Andrew J. McCann, CEO and Founder

Andrew_McCannIn 2003, McCann founded Waypoint Outcomes to commercialize software he developed to dramatically improve feedback to learners while developing data on their achievement. An expert in rubric and assessment design, McCann counsels K-12 and higher education clients on accreditation, e-learning and assessment activities to achieve excellence.

Before becoming an educator, McCann served in a variety of management roles with General Electric Co., including responsibility for ISO-9000 certification and Six Sigma projects.

He is a frequent guest speaker and has written numerous white papers and industry expert blogs on software applications in education.

McCann holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and a Master's degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from Temple University.

Michael Jones, Director of Product Experience

Michael Jones

Michael Jones’ experience in software development and consultation spans more than 25 years. His responsibilities on behalf of Waypoint Outcomes include enhancing our product offerings, engagement with customers, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships, and to participate in evolution of assessment standards and practices industrywide.

Over his career Jones has co-created, from the ground up, several software product companies as well as software consulting services companies. His diverse experience, within a broad variety of business domains, brings an innovative perspective to Waypoint's product development and marketing strategy. He has a passion for User Centered Design practice, which ensures that software aligns with real world user needs. He also brings extensive technical experience, having provided consulting services to Fortune 1000 companies on implementing software development best practices and utilizing leading methodologies.

Liz Beard, Regional Sales Manager

Liz Beard

Liz Beard joined Waypoint in September 2011 and brings with her over 20 years of technology sales and consulting experience.  Her most recent experience has been working exclusively in educational technologies as a Regional Sales Manager for Learning Objects, Inc. and as a senior consultant with Unicon, Inc.  Her work has involved the implementation of innovative solutions in all areas of education, including K-12, higher education, and corporate training and development.

Liz is also a certified secondary and adult education teacher having recently taught academic writing in the workforce development arena.  As part of her Master’s Colloquium, she developed and delivered series of leadership development workshops for national educational organizations and members of corporate America.  The workshops included such subject areas as leader communication and the development of the leader narrative, mediation skills for mid-level managers in team-based organizations, and applying ‘new science’ theory to business and education. 

Liz received her undergraduate degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master’s Degree from Duquesne University.
